First Steps to Take Back Control
Growing up I was always involved with athletics is some way or another. I began as a gymnast, made my way into the world of lacrosse, and have now found myself as a competitive bodybuilder as a Nationally Qualified Bikini competitor.
Since I stepped on stage for the first time I was instantly hooked and have not second guessed my decision to work to earn my IFBB Pro card and one day step on the Olympia stage.
When I began with my coach I had quite a bit of weight to lose and before I stepped on the stage for my first show I lost roughly 50 lbs to look the part. It is something that I have worked very hard to maintain. I never miss a workout and every Sunday evening I do my weekly meal prep...and yes you most likely will see me eating the same thing throughout the whole week 😜😜...I love my prepped food and once a week I enjoy myself for my cheat meal 😁

As the new season arrived and my coach and I began to decide which shows we will do and began to look at adjusting my meal plan accordingly however my body was not responding as it usually does so we began to suspect that something was going on internally 😟So we embarked on a mission to figure out what is going on as soon as possible so that we can get my body healthy and back on the road to pro 💪
Our first step, we decided, was to get food sensitivity testing done to see if there are foods that I am eating that I am unaware of are an allergy for me. So I got a referral from a friend and made an appointment with a naturopath here in Fonthill. And she is amazing! She was non-judgemental, as often I find medical field personnel are towards my chosen sport, and she was nothing but caring and compassionate towards me.
It's been interesting so far, I had to change out several of the vitamins that I was using as they were insufficient for the needs of my body. She was very thorough in her questioning and even gave me quite a bit of homework. I had to record for her everything I ate for a whole week, fill out a hormone questionnaire, get my blood drawn for the food sensitivity testing and make a doctors appointment for my family doctor to get a full work up done on my hormone levels.
I am really excited to be working with her and cannot wait to figure out what is fighting my from the inside out. I have done all of my homework, I got my food sensitivity testing blood drawn, I have made my doctors appointment, I filled out my paperwork that I needed to do...so now I wait until I go for my doctors appointment next week and we are able to get started on what to do next!!!
