Final Reflection

Genius Hour as a Teaching Strategy After completing this project, I really can see the merit in using this as a teaching strategy in a high school setting. Especially as a potential high school teacher! Many high school students are in a phase of life where they are beginning to look inside and discover who they are and who they will become as they continue to grow. They are constantly bombarded with questions about who they want to be, and what are they going to do once they graduate...university? college? enter the work force? come back and do a victory lap? Question after question...but who really knows who or what they are going to be when they graduate high school? I know I didn't....heck I will be graduating teachers college a whole decade after graduating from my undergrad. What a great way to try and figure out some answers to those questions by doing a Genius Hour type project to look into potential career options before spending the money at a post secondary ins...

Almost There

It is funny, as I am sitting down to look over all the things that I need to do for this genius hour project, I am looking back over the timeline of events that have transcribed over the past few weeks and it almost makes me laugh that the weeks have aligned almost perfectly with the timeline that it has taken me to get all the information that I need in order to prepare for the upcoming season but also the timing necessary for the creation of this blog. So to say I wasn't hungry this week is huge for me. I mean it was a struggle because my cravings were much more in the fore front of my mind, but it was a really nice feeling to be able to go a...

Game Plan

This week was a relatively productive week for my coach and I. We were able to increase my daily calories by quite a bit with very little weight changes, which was really good because it shows us that we can look to get them back up to a much higher level so that we will have a lot of room once we begin dieting. Also, my results have finally come in for the food sensitivity testing!!! So we have gotten some answers there as well, which it good. It gives us a starting point into looking at foods and spices that I will need to avoid. The good news was that several of the foods that I have been eating on a daily basis were not considered foods that I should be avoiding. There are quite a few that I do eat either regularly or from time to time that are considered foods that I might want to think about before eating them, so things such as eggs or milk are foods that I don't eat daily but enjoy in a cheat meal so I will have to be quite a bit more diligent when picking food...

Genius Hour Objective

Remember Your Why   As I work through this journey towards getting back on track, I know that the hardest part for me will be my mental strength. I am sharing with you all a poster that I have created using Canva that will help me stay mentally strong and to not give up even on those days that are beyond frustrating
